Heavenly Father (God) love us so much that they gave us a Sabbath Day. A day when we are actually commanded to rest. One of my favorite stories about the Sabbath Day is the stoy of the Israelites and their Exodus from Egypt. The Israelites were hungry so the Lord sent them Manna. Manna was a very special bread and had incredible properties. For example if the Israelites collected more Manna than they needed the Manna would spoil and they would have to collect Manna again the next day. However the Sabbath Day is such a sacred day to Heavenly Father that he didn't send Manna and the seventh day but the Israelites were instructed to collect double the Manna on The sixth day so that they could rest on the seventh. Any other day the bread would have spoiled but not on the seventh day, the holy day. God loves us so much that he has given us a day to rest and relax from the stressful world.
Now we celebrate the seventh day and Sunday and we rest from our labors. We go to church and worship God and renew ourselves for the coming week. I am so thankful for Sundays and look forward to many more Sundays of rest to come.
